Simple home made carb / sports drink

You don't need to spend a fortune on sports drinks to help fuel your training. A simple sugar and water mix with some lemon juice can provide very similar benefits to expensive carb mixes.
In the short video below i show how you can do this with ingredients that are likely already in your kitchen.
The 4-6 tablespoons of sugar might seem a lot but if you are training hard for over an hour or more then that will easily be metabolised. 1 Tablespoon of sugar is around 12-15g of carbs. The current suggested intake for someone training at a moderate intensity is at least 60g per hour.
Some sea salt helps maintain sodium levels lost through sweating and the lemon juice just adds a nice bit of flavour.
You can obviously add your own flavour to personalise it or you can just go with sugar and water.
Hopefully you find this helpful.
